Sudah Ada Negara Yang Memberi Minyak Percuma

ASHGABAT 9 Feb. Kerajaan Turkmenistan hari ini
mengumumkan pemberian minyak petrol percuma kepada
rakyatnya pada setiap bulan.

Pemilik kereta akan mendapat 120 liter minyak dan
pemandu lori, traktor serta bas pula mereka akan
mendapat 200 liter manakala penunggang motosikal pula
memperoleh 40 liter.

Pengumuman tersebut telah dikeluarkan dalam akhbar
milik kerajaan neutral Turkmenistan. Pemilik kenderaan
akan diberikan kupon yang memberikan mereka hak
mengisi secara percuma di stesen minyak, lapor akhbar
berkenaan.

Bagaimanapun bagi mereka yang menggunakan minyak
melebihi dari had yang ditetapkan mereka terpaksa
membayar sendiri mengikut harga pasaran.

Turkmenistan yang merupakan negara kaya dengan hasil
minyak, mempunyai corak pemerintahan yang menyamai
Rusia di mana ekonomi negara di kawal oleh kerajaan
pusat.

The One Trillion Wonders Of Iman Hadhari Wishes

The Economic Corridors are just a farce. They are not happening. This is the view of the highest ranking senior staff at the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) in the Prime Minister's Department. Here are some facts provided by them. Malaysia is held in high esteem for carefully planning the development of the country through the five-year development plans. The Ninth Malaysia Plan (RMK9) was officially launched on 31 March 2006.

The RMK9 was launched after hundreds of rounds of meetings with industry groups, Government Ministries and thousands of pages of reports, studies and consultants views. It took almost two years to put the RMK9 together. The RMK9 envisaged an investment of approximately RM280 billion, spread over the whole country over five years. This averages about RM56 billion expenditure per year. In stark contrast, the Iskandar Development Region (IDR) in Johor went from announcement to non-implementation in just three months.

The Prime Minister suddenly said that he had thought up the IDR Corridor all by himself. There were no inputs from the Economic Planning Unit of the PM's office. There is a simple reason for this. The EPU does not exist any more. Its staff has been reassigned and it is now a cold storage department at the PM's office. The RM300 billion for the IDR was also a complete surprise because this number was derived in a matter of weeks without any studies being done, without the long meetings and discussions that are necessary to put a multi-billion Ringgit plan into operation. However, before the shocked Government planners could close their mouths, the Prime Minister announced RM140 billion for the Northern Corridor and RM120 billion for the Eastern Corridor.

For these subsequent launches, they did not even have the time to coin the proper names for the corridors. The ECER was originally touted as the WEPT or Wilayah Ekonomi Pantai Timur. But on the launching day, the PM's new wife 'John' pinched the PM and said WEPT means 'sudah menangis'. That was not very nice so they changed it to ECER. Then, towards the end of 2007, the PM received phone calls that he had forgotten about Sabah and Sarawak. Oops, said the PM. So off he went to Sabah and Sarawak. In the record time of less than eight weeks, the SCORE (Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy) was launched at RM350 billion.

The Sabah Corridor is expected to involve another RM200 billion. Taken together, all these corridors total RM1,110 billion or RM1.11 trillion. Even if we are off by RM110 billion, it still adds up to RM1,000 billion or RM1.0 trillion. In the meantime, the RMK9 has been completely forgotten. The RMK9 is now due for its mid-term review in 2008. But there is nothing to report because the RMK9 has been shelved. Some 8th Malaysia Plan (RMK8) projects which were postponed and included in the RMK9 have been completed. But according to the EPU none of the projects in the RMK9 have even been started yet. In the 1990s, multinational engineering firms, Japanese bankers, consultants and all sorts of private investors found their way to Malaysia looking to take part in the development of the country.

Throughout 22 years in power, Dr Mahathir spent less than RM50 billion to build the KLCC (RM2 bil), North-South Highway (RM4 bil), KLIA (RM4 bil), Putrajaya (RM14 bil), F1 Racing (RM370 Million), LRT (RM3 bil), etc. But this time, despite RM1.11 trillion worth of Development Corridors, there are no foreigners coming in a big way to invest here. No foreign investors are rushing to come to Malaysia to take a crack at the RM1.11 trillion development corridors. They know that these numbers are all fake. And true enough, none of the Development Corridors are being developed with any speed.

Tan Sri Musa Hitam has been appointed Overlord of the IDR and Dato Anuar Zaini has been appointed Maharaja of the Northern Corridor. Dato Awang Dogoi may be appointed the Daimyo of the ECER while Dato Bujang anak Kapit may be appointed Temenggong of the Sarawak Development Corridor. None of them has an office space at any of these Corridors. No one knows what these Corridor bosses will be doing but it is expected that they will have powers superseding local District Officers and other State authorities. They will report direct to the PM's SIL and his team on the 4th Floor of the PM's office. Since land is still a State matter this arrangement is expected to cause much confusion. But not to worry because the PM is not losing any sleep over any of these things.

Several Selangor reps say goodbye to state

PETALING JAYA: The MCA's Datuk Ch'ng Toh Eng and Datuk Tang See Hang bade farewell to their fellow Selangor exco members yesterday, after more than a decade of service.

They are among 10 MCA elected representatives involved in changes to line-up for the general election.

It is learnt that the six who will not be seeking re-election are Klang MP Datin Paduka Dr Tan Yee Kew, Kelana Jaya MP Loh Seng Kok, Serdang MP Datuk Yap Pian Hon, Damansara Utama assemblyman Datuk Lim Choon Kim, Kampung Tunku assemblyman Datuk Dr Wong Sai Hou and Sungai Pelek assemblyman Datuk Liew Chee Kong.

Rawang assemblyman Tang is giving up his state seat but is hoping to contest the Selayang parliamentary seat held by MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy.

Another three assemblymen expected to contest parliamentary seats are Ch'ng in Klang, Datuk Lee Hwa Beng in Kelana Jaya and Datuk Hoh Hee Lee in Serdang.

Ch'ng is Kuala Kubu Baru assemblyman, Lee the Subang Jaya assemblyman and Hoh the Balakong assemblyman.

Wong Khoon Mun is eyeing the Kuala Kubu Baru state seat while Lai Kong Choy is making a go for the Balakong state seat and Yap Ee Wah the Sungai Pelek seat.

The newcomers in Selangor are former newscaster and MCA Youth public speaking bureau chairman Victor Gu and lawyer Sheah Kok Fah.

Gu and Sheah will be contesting state seats in Damansara Utama and Kampung Tunku respectively.

A recent statement by Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo of not wanting to field candidates who lost in the last general election marked the end for Datuk Chia Kim Lem and Khoh Siew Kim, who lost to DAP candidates in the Sekinchan and Sungai Pinang state seats respectively .

Angry youths surround and jeer Samy at school event

PETALING JAYA: MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu was surrounded by some youths who jeered him during the ground-breaking ceremony for a new Tamil school here.

Samy Vellu was walking back to a canopy after performing the ceremony for the SRJK Tamil Seaport in Kampung Lindungan when the youths surrounded him.

The school is being relocated from Kelana Jaya.

MIC supporters quickly came in to help but Samy Vellu and the youths were already involved in a heated argument by then.

Police were called in and they escorted Samy Vellu from the area.

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo was also at the ceremony.

Earlier, as Samy Vellu got down from his car, a group of about 30 people held placards stating that the land area for the school had been reduced.

After listening to their grievances, Samy Vellu assured them that the new school building would be bigger.

He said the new building could hold 450 pupils compared to the 150 now.

“We should be happy that an extra RM500,000 has been allocated to build this school at a cost of RM1.5mil,” he said.

Parlimen Dah Bubar - Kita DiTipu Lagi

Yes! Parlimen dah dibubarkan, tapi kita tetap ditipu lagi. Manakan tidak, selang hanya sehari saja dari apa yang diungkapkan dengan penafian yang amat bersangatan (sila rujuk kepada posting di bawah), tup-tup Parlimen telah dibubarkan.

Ini lah Pak Lah, seseorang yang pengecut dan penakut selalu berselindung disebalik mukanya yang "bersahaja", tanpa rasa segan dan rasa bersalah kepada sesiapa pun, hatta kepada Allah s.w.t. Maka tidak hairanlah pada Piliharaya Ke 12 ini, sebilangan besar rakyat akan ditipu "hidup-hidup" demi mempertahankan kebejatan apa yang telah dilakukan oleh Pak Lah dan barisan kepimpinan yang disusunnya.

Mungkin selepas daripada pembubaran Parlimen ini sehingga menjelang penamaan calon dan juga yang terakhirnya dengan tarikh pembuangan undi, Pak Lah masih tetap mempunyai bermacam-macam keputusan peribadinya yang akan di"hadiahkan" kepada rakyat, yang juga sebahagian dari kempen busuk pilihanraya Ke 12 ini.


Sejajar dengan slogan ini, kita sebagai parti yang berstatus pembangkang sehingga semalam, tetap tidak perlu merasa gusar, kerana, tektik-taktik tersebut sudah sebati dengan jiwa dan sanubari sebagai pejuang.

The prime minister has called for a press conference at his office at 12.30pm today where he is expected to announce the dissolution of the Parliament.

Only yesterday Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had dismissed speculations that he would be dissolving the Parliament today.


"No, not tomorrow," he told reporters yesterday evening.

However, his office called a press conference this morning, instantly raising expectations of an announcement.

Election fever has picked up tremendous momentum since the turn of the year, with many political observers and politicians speculating that the nation¢s 12th general election would be held before the end of March.

Political analysts and the media have been predicting that Parliament will be dissolved today (Feb 13) because 13 is the prime minister's favourite number.
